DIGBY NECK & BRIAR ISLAND

Whale WatchingBriar Island 1Briar Island 2Briar Island Ferry

ALL DAY $450.00 (Whale Watching tours extra)

Digby Neck is this long narrow jut of land and two islands that are part of the basalt ridge that forms the Annapolis Valley. It flings itself out into the Bay of Fundy which has the highest tides in the world and is breeding ground to many species of whales. At the end of Digby Neck is Briar Island, an incredibly beautiful rugged piece of rockthat is only approachable by ferry. The drive to Briar Island has to be co-ordinated to two ferry crossings, and if you want to go on a whale watching tour, their departure times. I will need 48 hours advance notice to co-ordinate bookings and ferry times. The island itself will bear a few hours exploring or you can expect to spend at least three hours on any one of the many whale watching expeditions. You will be in the car probably 4-5 hours each way. If you are land locked or live in a big city this will be a real treat! One whale can make your whole holiday.
